Frequently Asked Questions:

SHIPPING

  • Your ceramics will ship within 10-12 (and sooner whenever I can) days of ordering through the web shop. You will receive an email with confirmation of shipping and tracking info. If you haven’t received it or have further questions, contact me here or use this form. We are not shipping internationally currently (updated December 2023). Please contact us for international inquiries.

  • Yes, after more than 10 years shipping ceramics and artworks, I am confident your ceramic pieces will arrive safely. In the very rare event that something arrives damaged, please write to me asap with photos of the damage and the outside of the box. I will follow up with you.

  • Yes, I do my very best at consolidating multiple items into one parcel. Sometimes, there are too many or too large pieces to safely ship together with other items. In that case, I will separate them into its own parcel. I will return to you any un-used shipping costs.

  • No, I cannot accept returns. Please read everything on the listing and view all photos before purchasing. I also post a lot of additional images and videos of my ceramics on social media, so follow me there! You will be able to see different angles of each piece, and details.

If, however you are truly not happy with your purchase, write to me and I’ll see what I can do.

PRODUCT

  • You can use them in the microwave and in the dishwasher. However, I recommend hand-washing, and use the microwave only when needed. Hand-made pieces love extra care! I still use all of my favorite ceramic dishes and teapots I made during art school many, many years ago :)

  • My ceramics are food-safe, and made from stoneware clay. I glaze and decorate with non-toxic materials.

I sometimes make micaceous clay pieces that are best for cooking and collecting. These are made using New Mexico micaceous clay and fired to a low-temperature. You can see these pieces in the MICA Collection gallery here.

SHOP RELEASES

  • I release a new collection every 5-6 weeks. They do go quickly, so it is best to receive my email announcing when and how they will be available. You can sign up here.

And if you cannot wait, check my stockists list to see if you are near one of the stores! They all carry a small selection of my work. Call them ahead to see what they have at any one time.

  • I’d love to have you on my List! You can sign up here. It is the best way to see what new pieces are ready to take with you, and get access to first-picks! Once you sign up, you will start getting emails from me. If you don’t see them in 2-3 days, please look for emails in your junk or promotions folder … sometimes they end up there … and move them to your Inbox or Contacts so that you don’t miss them next time.

The one to look out for is the New Collection release email. In it, you will find the details you want: the date and time to go to my web shop, and the password to use to get in the shop. I give the password only to those who sign up, and I open the shop to everyone 24 hours later, but it’s usually mostly sold by then.

STUDIO

  • I am not open for studio visits at the moment. Every once in a while you can meet me at an event (I will publish it on this website and social media when I do).

You can always visit one of the stores who carry my ceramics, to see my pieces in person. Check, and call them, here.

  • I love to hand-build vessels with clay. I use all techniques: pinching, slab, and coil building for most of my work.

I also love to throw pots on the potter’s wheel, and I do that as time permits.

In most recent years, I learned the coil and scrape technique to build micaceous pottery. And in the past, I have experimented with pit-fire, raku, soda fire, and gas reduction fire. I love it all, but in my small studio, I can only do so much :)

  • I get inspired when I feel most myself and connected to the studio. So, you will usually find me in the studio in the mornings, after having gone on a walk or greeted my plants in the yard; wearing my studio apron, and my alpargatas (Argentinean gaucho shoes) to feel grounded. I mostly work in silence, but I sometimes listen to Brazilian or South-American folk music.

The vast open space of New Mexico, and nature in all forms are also an inspiration. And, most important, the joy I get from making with my hands, and the joy you express when receiving my pieces.

CUSTOM AND WHOLESALE ORDERS

  • I take wholesale orders when I have space. Send me an email telling me about your shop, what would you want to carry (collection style, type of item, and approximate quantity of pieces), and we can start talking. Email me here or use this form.

  • Yes, I’d love to talk about your special order! I take custom orders as I have space (usually no more than one order per month). It can take me anywhere from 2 to 6 or 8 months to complete an order, depending on what it is. Write to me telling me: which Collection style, item types, quantity, and shipping address you would want and I’ll be in touch! Thanks!
